Prosecutors ruled out the death penalty, but Yang faces life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted of the murder of her child. The mother-of-four has been held since June after investigators determined her baby died of ‘extensive thermal injuries’ after being placed in a microwave on March 17.

A pathologist testified during Tuesday’s hearing that the radiation from the microwave essentially cooked the child’s stomach and small intestine.

Yang’s defense attorney, Linda Parisi said that it was due to her client’s history of seizures – which she has been suffering from for more than six years – that made her put her own baby in the microwave.

She will argue during the murder trial that Yang was in the middle of a seizure and did not know what she was doing.

At the time, Yang claimed she ‘had a seizure and did not know what happened after that’.

When they happen, she ‘sees white light and then trees before hand’, according to her family.

Investigators said some of the encounters took place at a Walmart parking lot and twice at a Ramada Inn in Tannersville, Monroe County. Police said she confessed to colleagues at the school that she had sex with two 17-year-old students, later also admitting it to county Detective Robert Righi. Farrell was married in June 2010. The alleged affair is said to have taken place between August of the same year and January 2011. Bangor Area High School superintendent Patricia Mulroy said the district confronted Farrell as soon it found out about the accusations against her and that the matter was turned over to county prosecutors.

But during his 4.6mile walk he was spotted by a security guard as he crossed a bank parking lot. The guard called police who took the boy to school and then contacted his mother who was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.  According to an arrest report when police picked up the boy he told them: ‘Please don’t take me home. Mother will beat me.’ Police said the boy’s mother had overstepped the mark with her punishment. ‘You ask yourself the question, is that safe for the child?’ said Jonesboro Police spokesman Sgt. Lyle Waterworth. ‘And if you wouldn’t want your child doing it, you probably don’t need some (other) child doing it. ‘There were a number of things that could have happened to the child. The child could have been injured, abducted,’ said Sgt Waterworth.

Nequavion Jones said he agreed with his mother’s punishment and doesn’t want to see her get into trouble. ‘She did the right thing, she knew that I had been suspended off the bus five days, so she didn’t do nothing wrong. She made me walk. I just had to walk. They shouldn’t have picked me up. I could’ve walked by myself, ‘ said Nequavion. The youngster had his bus privileges suspended for a fifth time due to yelling. If found guilty his mother faces up to a year in jail for a fine of $1,000.

‘Tyree told Nicole Rabb the blows to Angel Gonzalez’s head were so severe that he was able to remove an eye from the man’s head along with pieces of brain matter and a piece of his skull,’ the warrant reads, according to the Hartford Courant. Smith put the body parts in a bag and walked to cemetery where another cousin is buried. ‘At the cemetery he said he ate the eyeball, which tasted like an oyster, and the brain matter,’ according to the warrant.

Nicole Rabb contacted authorities after the victim’s body was discovered Friday. Angel Gonzalez’s decomposed, significantly wounded body was found in an abandoned building and blood was spattered on a nearby wall. Police say Smith left Connecticut that day on a Florida-bound Greyhound bus, arriving on Monday. Lynn Haven police say federal, state and local law enforcement officers took Smith into custody at a woman’s apartment without incident.

Afterward, Williams frantically ran to a neighbor’s apartment and tried to convince them that the infant was evil. Williams explained that she had witnessed the infant’s eye color change to blue. The neighbors, upon hearing Williams, were so concerned that they summoned the police. A neighbor told authorities: She knocked on her door and said there was a baby in her apartment and she didn’t know how it got there.” The neighbor also said Williams called 4-week-old baby ‘evil.’ By the time police arrived, they discovered that a granular detergent with blue flecks was covering the infant’s face. The child’s eyes were blood red and bulging and there were burn marks and blood pooling around her mouth. Police found the detergent’s open container and the blue flecked substance matched what was found on the child’s face. When questioned by police, Williams said that she saw a man standing by the infant’s crib. When authorities asked her about the detergent, she defensively denied any wrongdoing. Williams was arrested and charged with the assault of a child in the second degree and is being held in jail on a $100,000 bond.

In a court hearing on Friday, James Tapke’s lawyer argued that the alarming incident was all just a joke.

She told police her husband punched her in the face several times and strangled her until her vision went black after an argument about financial issues. When police asked Michael West what happened, he said his wife had fallen several times, injuring her face. When police asked about the marks on her neck, West changed his story. “A ghost did it,” he said, according to the complaint. Cops said West cursed and tried to resist as they arrested him.

Agents bought five Xbox 360s, put them in the trunk of a car, then reported the car as being stolen. Baxton and another officer responded to the call — and sure enough, when they saw the Xboxes, the chief ordered the officer to put four in his car and keep one for himself. “Unbeknownst to Baxton, the unnamed officer voluntarily came forward to report other acts of misconduct occurring in Alorton and had been assisting the federal investigation from its inception. The unnamed officer was equipped with covert surveillance devices at the time of the theft — and he audio and video recorded the entire incident,” reads the court record. Officials tracked one of the Xboxes and found it being used in Baxton’s basement. But the U.S. Attorney overseeing the case said Baxton lied and tried to frame another officer when confronted. This isn’t the former chief’s first brush with the other side of the law. It turns out Baxton had two felony convictions from 1982 before he was appointed: one for theft and another for burglary. Those convictions were expunged in 1989.  The last chief  of police was convicted of federal tax crimes.

After recording her conversation with the officer and being charged for it, Tiawanda Moore was later acquitted in August. One of the jurors called the trial “a waste of time.” Tiawanda Moore spent two weeks in the Cook County Jail. She eventually got out and filed suit against the city and the police department. She is alleging unreasonable seizure, false arrest, and malicious prosecution and claims that the law specifically exempts those who record police officers “under reasonable suspicion that another party to the conversation is committing or is about to commit” a crime.

Prominent Chicago attorney Karen Cecile-Wallace says that Moore was right to record the officer: The Illinois eavesdropping statute is a double-edged sword. It prohibits persons from being recorded without their knowledge and permission, but Moore was within her right to protect herself from the officer’s blatant unlawful and egregious acts. I commend the jury for reaching the right decision.

According to the FBI, Ruble told them that Stancliff picked up a butcher knife from her kitchen, grabbed a bandana and they set off with her son to rob the bank. She put the boy in a car seat and they drove to the bank, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. As a way to find out how many tellers were on duty, Ruble went into the bank to ask if there was a change-counting machine. An FBI affidavit states that Stancliff then went into the bank with the bandana covering his face. He allegedly showed the teller the knife, demanded cash and managed to getaway with $4,800. An informant told police Stancliff and Ruble were the suspects and they were arrested on December 30.

Ruble, who was released on $5,000 bail on Thursday, told the FBI that she regretted putting her son in danger. A spokesman for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services said the agency is investigating allegations of abuse and neglect against the couple.
