Written by The Chattanooga Police Department headed up another multi-department operation on Thursday, targeting known gang members and their associates to curb the undue violence and criminal element they bring to the community.
Participating in the operation along with Chattanooga Police Department were officers, agents and investigators from the Hamilton County Sheriff�s Office, the FBI and the ATF. These 75 officers were divided into teams which used directed patrols, knock and talks, and warrant service to make contact with violent gang members and wanted persons who needed to be off the streets, police said.
The statistics from Thursday�s operation are:
� Total people arrested – 36
� Gang members arrested – 11
� Total charges – 77
� Warrants Served – 30
� Guns seized – 2
� Drugs seized – Marijuana – 535 grams, Crack Cocaine – 7.8 grams, Powder Cocaine – 4.8 grams
� Vehicles seized – 2 cars
� Property seized – 2 t.v.’s, XBOX 360, digital camera, two laptop computers (all stolen)
� Money seized – $1,857 and three counterfeit $50 bills
